    This announcement is for entry level aerospace engineering positions at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD). NSWC IHD is a Department of Defense energetics center and recognized leader in the Navy's Energetics Enterprise. Our mission is to research, develop, and provide energetics and energetics systems for our joint fighting forces. "Energetic Systems" refers to propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, and their related components. Our scientists and engineers design, develop, manufacture, and test energetic systems to meet the needs of today's warfighter and investigate new technologies to support future warfighting needs. Aerospace engineers perform professional engineering and scientific work concerning the integration of the aeronautics and astronautics sciences within the broad arena of aviation. It includes related materials, equipment, systems, applications, and components. The aerospace engineering science discipline involves: increasing the knowledge and understanding of the aeronautical and astronautical sciences and their applications in aviation; improving manned and unmanned commercial, defense, and business aviation technology; and creating, developing, testing, launching, operating, maintaining, remodeling, and decommissioning aeronautical vehicles and structures.
